The Selenites Band, French Ethio-jazz collective

They follow the path of Ethiopian music from the 50s and 70s, exploring its standards as their primary source of inspiration. Returning to the origins of Ethiopian music and the scales so characteristic of the traditional music of the Horn of Africa, they play tribal jazz conducive to flights of fancy and free improvisations.

A music in motion and open to encounters, they extend their repertoire of modern Ethio-jazz compositions, drawing on their Afro-jazz, psychedelic and Kraütrock influences.

On stage, from the very first notes, the group’s universe and energy are striking. The quintet groove and produce a mystical, contagious energy that they share with the audience. An atmosphere of trance and dance that brings back the mythical clubs of Swinging Addis.

Contagion guaranteed!
